Salacca

The Salacca fruit is red. It has a thin brittle husk covered with short bristle -link spines. The fruit is borne in a cluster. Each fruit has between one and three sections. The seed is dark brown and is surrounded by flesh ranging in taste form sweet and slightly sour to sour,depending on the variety. The fruit provides carbohydrate, calcium , potassium , and vitamin C. (The fruit is approximately 4-6 cm. in diameter and 8-10 cm. long.)
