Broccoli is an annual plant with a short stem that has many tiny flowers clustered together to form heads. The main stems are large , fleshy and crisp. Depending on the variety , the flowers and be green , white or purple. The flowers and stalks are edible. The stems , stripped off the skin , are also edible. Approximate size of the head is 10 - 16 cm. in diameter.
